Optional step card - CMB journey, design and language options (v2)

The full NEW CMB/GLP-1 journey (21 steps, exact order from the patient-engagement-implementation-plan-and-ideas Doc, repo master §CMB/GLP-1), rendered in the live CMB journey panel style (my.dev, patient "new mes test", EBI CMB C5, recon Aug 26). Optional visits sit INLINE at their journey positions - step 15 (Dietitian visit #3, month 7) and step 17 (Health Coach visit #4, month 10) - never in a separate section. Each panel below is the same journey with a different optional-card treatment. Existing step descriptions are verbatim from the live portal; new steps (14, 15, 20, and CGM step 8) carry drafted copy.

Ruling (Aug 26): NO countdown on optional cards. Ruling (Aug 26): NO separate "optional" section - optional steps stay inline in journey order.

The four treatments

Layouts mix and match with the copy IDs in the language board at the bottom. Step 1 keeps today's live pending-banner pattern (amber) for contrast - optional cards are deliberately calmer.

Optional-step states (layout A shown - same logic for any layout)

Skipped reuses the journey's dimmed style; admin skip on the patient's behalf produces the identical state. Booked joins the standard appointment lifecycle.

Language board - pick by ID

Reference picks as "layout + IDs", e.g. "A + G1 + L1 + B1 + C3". Starred = recommended. Meeting language woven in: "extra support", "not a blocker", "totally on them" (Aug 25 working session - Rachel, Kaitlin, Sandy, Kelly, Artem, Andriy).
G - badge on the title row
G1 *OptionalPlain and instantly scannable; pairs with any guidance line.
G2Optional visitSlightly more explicit, slightly longer pill.
G3Your choiceWarmer, agency-forward; less standard as a status label.
G4Extra supportSays why it exists, but stops labeling it optional.
B - button pair
B1 *Book visit / SkipMatches the existing "Book visit" label; shortest.
B2Book visit / Skip this visitMore explicit skip; longer button.
B3Yes, book it / No thanksFor question framing (layout B) only.
B4Book for extra support / I'm good, skipCopy does the guidance work; verbose on mobile.
B5Book visit / Skip for now"For now" promises reversibility - only if un-skip ships.
L - guidance line under the title
L1 *This visit is optional. It's here if you'd like extra support - skipping it won't hold up your journey. The meeting's own framing, patient-polished.
L2An extra visit, only if you want it. Your journey moves on either way.Shortest; leads with agency.
L3Here if you need extra support. Not a blocker - book it or skip it, totally your call.Closest to the meeting verbatim; most casual tone.
L4You've come a long way. One more session is here if you want it - or skip it and keep going.Celebratory tone; reads better on step 17 than step 15.
C - skip confirmation
C1No confirmation - one click skips, card grays immediately.Lightest; risky if skip is irreversible.
C2"Skip this visit?" - "No problem. This optional visit will be removed and your journey will move on." Buttons: Keep it / Skip visitFor irreversible skip: states the consequence plainly.
C3 *"Skip this visit?" - "You can re-add it later if you change your mind." Buttons: Keep it / Skip visitFor reversible skip; lowest-anxiety wording.
S - skipped-state line
S1You skipped this optional visit.Neutral record.
S2Skipped - your journey moved on.Confirms no penalty.
S3 *Skipped. Your care team is still here whenever you need them.Keeps the door open; softest landing, works for admin skip too.
